Do your prices include VAT?
Yes, all prices quoted on our website include VAT.
Are there any setup charges?
If you sign up for a 12 month contract there is a £58.75 one off setup fee on new ADSL accounts. If you do not wish to sign up for 12 months the one-off setup fee is £69.99. To migrate over from another Broadband Provider the connection fee is £14.99.
What payment methods do you accept?
The initial connection fee needs to be paid via credit card, your monthly connection can be paid either by DD or you can continue to use your credit card. We do not accept cheques as a payment method.
Do I still have to pay BT line rental if I get Broadband?
Yes. BT's telephone billing (line rental and call charges) are unrelated to your Broadband. You will however not have to make any calls to the Internet as the Broadband is an always-on connection.
If I order my Broadband today, when can I expect it to be live?
Unless we encounter a problem with your line it will take 7 days for your broadband order to go live. If you would like to choose a date after this initial 7 days for your broadband to go live then you will be given this option during the ordering process.
What does ADSL stand for?
Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line.
How many microfilters do I need?
A microfilter is needed for each socket in use on the phone number activated for Broadband. As an example if you have three sockets in your house, one in the study where your PC and phone are, one in the bedroom for a phone and a third in the lounge unused. You would need two filters, one for the study for the Broadband connection and the phone and another for the phone in the bedroom. If a set top box was to be added in the lounge for digital TV another filter would be required there.
If you require more microfilters you can order them on this website by clicking the "Hardware" link above. Place your order by 3pm and we will endeavour to send out your hardware by the following working day.
What is the Contention Ratio?
The contention ratio on all our accounts is 50:1.
Do I get a Fixed IP address?

Do I get an Email account?
Free email is available to our broadband customers once your account is activated. This is setup as yourname@mail.adsl4less.com. Webmail access is also available to enable you to access your email from anywhere.
How long is the contract?
We offer two packages, a 12 month contract and a 30 day contract.

I already have broadband, how can I move over to ADSL4Less?
Firstly, you will need to ask your current ISP for your MAC (Migration Authentification Code) and enter this in the correct field when you order your Broadband with us. You can only migrate a like for like broadband service so, for example, if you are currently using a 1Mbps service then you can only migrate to one of our 1Mbps services.
A MAC Key is a unique code generated by your service provider. It starts with either the letters BBIP or FTIP followed by up to tweleve digits then a forward slash and five more alphanumeric characters, for example "BBIP12345678/AB12C". By generating this code for you your service provider is agreeing to your move to ADSL4Less. Please ensure that you submit your MAC to us in the correct format otherwise the migration will fail causing a delay to your order.
Please note: You will need to find out how many days your current ISP will leave your connection active as a migration takes 7 days to go through. If they cancel your account during these 7 days then the migration will fail.
The only ISP we know of at the moment that refuse migrations by not giving out MACs is Tiscali. If you are with Tiscali but would like to take advantage of ADSL4Less' low cost broadband prices then you would have to cancel your Broadband order with them and then apply for Broadband with us, at the full £58.75 (12 month contract) or £69.99 (1 month contract) setup fee, the reduced migration fee is non-applicable in these circumstances. Unfortunately this will incur a downtime of your broadband service of about 14 days but thereafter you will be receiving ADSL4Less Broadband from just £11.99 per month.
What happens if I move house?
If you moved house you would need to pay another connection fee, you could stay on the same contract though.
How many computers can share my ADSL4Less Broadband connection?
We do not restrict the amount of computers that can share the connection.
Is the service IPStream or DataStream?
The service is IPStream but it is possible to migrate from a DataStream service for the usual £14.99 migration fee.
I have ordered ADSL4Less Broadband, how long will it take before I can start using the service?
Your line will be setup in 5 working days from the day you order.
Is the "unlimited" bandwidth you offer with your 512Kbps service truly unlimited?
The Bandwidth offered with our 512Kbps service is 100% unlimited, you can surf for as long as you want, whenever you want.
How will I know how much bandwith I have used?
There is a section on our Total Control panel which will let you keep track of exactly how much bandwidth you are using.
What happens if I exceed my 2GB bandwidth limit?
If you have used your included 2GB bandwidth you can add 'pay as you go' for any extra bandwidth. This is charged at £1.75 (inc. VAT) per GB per month.
Will I be charged if for any reason I wish to change to another ISP?
We are so confident you will be happy with our service we do not charge you to Migrate away to another ISP should you wish to but we do request that you give us 30 days notice.
What is included with your Setup Fee?
The setup fee includes activation of Broadband on your line. Hardware is not included within this fee. If you require a modem or router these are available at a very competitive rate. Click here for further details.
Is there any webspace included with your Broadband packages?
Currently there is no webspace included.
Do you provide access to newsgroups?
We do not run our own newsgroups but we do not block access to any others.
Are there any problems with peer 2 peer and file sharing with your service?
